Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is discussed in this course. Students will practice close reading - working to understand what happens in the text beyond the essential plot and character development - as well as the different ways to interpret text.
Location, place, human-environment interaction, movement and region (the 5 themes of Geography) are applied to the study of the creation of the earliest human civilizations (The River Valley civilizations).
This course will review exponential and radical expressions. Then students will explore and master functions, linear equations, systems, polynomials and quadratic equations. Students must have a knowledge of advanced numeracy in order to be successful in this class.
